Title of the lab:  Spacecraft Servicing and Robotics Laboratory

Director/PI:  Dr. Marcello Romano, Assistant Professor MAE/SSAG

Location:  Halligan 024a.

Description:  The lab is hosting the Autonomous Docking and Spacecraft Servicing test-bed, whose task is to simulate on-the-ground the dynamics and control of the docking and fluid transfer between two small spacecraft. Planned future researches will focus on the dynamics and control of multi-spacecraft systems, with emphasis on auto-assembly, self-reconfiguration and space-awareness applications.

Current sponsors:  NPS, AFRL-VSSV

Students:  Four NPS students (3 Space Systems and 1 Space Ops) are currently working for their thesis in this lab, tutored by Dr. Romano
