Master of Science in Space Systems Operations
Commencing the week of September 24, 2007
By Distributed Learning

The Naval Postgraduate School Space Systems Academic Group is proud to announce the offering of a Masters of Science in Space Systems Operations (MSSSO) via Distributed Learning (DL) beginning the week of September 24, 2007. The MSSO-DL degree program is limited to 25 students and is open to all qualified uniformed officers, federal employees and Defense contractor civilians.

The MS Space Systems Operations (MSSSO-DL) distributed learning degree is an accredited 24-month, part-time program delivered using a combination of asynchronous web-based courses (ONLINE) and synchronous video tele-education (VTE) courses. The web-based courses are paced week-to-week by the instructors, but students have great flexibility to do their coursework at times of their choosing during each week. The VTE classes can be taken using a dial up video tele-conferencing unit with ISDN high speed phone line connection or IP over the Internet using Eluminate. To use Eluminate, the student must have Internet access with a PC camera and microphone. The attached MSSSO-DL September 2007-2009 curriculum lineup of courses identifies the classes and modes of delivery.

Students in the MSSSO-DL degree program meet the same degree requirements as on-campus students. If a candidate student has completed the NPS Space Systems certificate then they have already completed three of the required courses for the MSSSO-DL program. The open enrollment tuition price is $1750 per course (not including textbooks). Attached is a MSSSO-DL tuition letter that provides instructions on payment options.
